May I add that your situation was different from my own. Your father was in a position to save money and your brother has been able to help with care costs. I have neither. Before my mum became disabled she was a nurse and after that she had many jobs until her back became too bad to work. For example many days she can’t walk to get to the bathroom or the kitchen, I help her to do that. I wash her back and shoulders, dress her below the waist and do almost all of the cooking.
